The Beverly Hills ArtShow was a great success. Thank you to all who came out to support the arts and the artists at this wonderful art event. This year, I introduced, The Prom Dress. The Prom Dress was produced for an upcoming exhibit, 17 Women Artist on Being 17, opening at the William D. Cannon Gallery in Carlsbad, April 29th through June 17th 2018. Following my painting tradition, the dress is completely "thrown" with paint.

Life Is Not A Straight Line
Diana Carey
My work partially addresses and integrates a grand gestural technique with that of neo impressionist pointillism, leading to an abstract impressionism based on feeling rather than imagery, depth rather than surface quality. My intention is to wrest chaos, fundamental to the technique, into works that reference that technique,while retaining an image. Using sticks and brushes to splash, throw, and splatter numerous layers of acrylic paint onto a large supine canvas, I try and evoke the essence of a subject, taking care with my accuracy not to overly emphasize the image and thus minimize the process.
The intention and interactive play between the viewer’s perception and my technique determines the paintings perceived order and imagery. Each tiny splash of paint, each throw, chaotic yet cohesive, contributes to the substance that reads as organic subjects, subjects based mainly from my travels and from my home base in the hills of Southern California.

ReplyDeleteMost Unique Prom Dress is normally a week-long event organized by high schools or colleges. For colleges, homecoming is a time to welcome back who were a part of the college years ago.
Since Beautiful Homecoming Dresses is in the fall, dress is a little less formal and dress length can be much shorter. Homecoming dress to impress from short, tight body to long, formal gowns, we have so many styles.
Prom is very formal and it is the more expensive event of the two.
Since prom is formal and the weather is often cooler, girls often wear gowns that reach the floor and the guys are required to wear either suit. High heels are a must for prom however homecoming can allow for flats or a low heel.
